Clint Dempsey could leave Fulham

ShareClint Dempsey has revealed he will leave Fulham if a Champions League club comes calling.[LNB]The American midfield ace, 28, is the London club's leader Premier League scorer and scored 12 league goals last season.[LNB]But he could be set to follow Mark Hughes out of Craven Cottage if he can realise his dream of playing at the top level.[LNB] American dream: Clint Dempsey (right) is now Fulham's all-time leading scorer in the Premier League[LNB]Dempsey said: 'Right now I'm thinking about Europe and playing in the Champions League. That's a goal.[LNB]'Everyone wants to play at the highest level. If someday I get the opportunity to play for a big club in the Champions League, that would be great.[LNB]'I'd be lying if I said that wasn't a dream. But at the same time you have to make the most of where you are.'[LNB] Determined: Dempsey (left) takes on Spain's Sergio Ramos while playing for the USA against Spain[LNB]Dempsey, who has been at Fulham for four years after arriving from New England Revolution, has been on AC Milan's radar.[LNB]The forward's revelation comes after he told US Soccer: 'I've been here [Fulham] for four and a half years and I've had a successful career in England which is one of the toughest leagues in the world.[LNB]'But there are better things to come for me. I need to keep working hard and better myself and see where i can take this. I don't want to have regrets.'[LNB]Dempsey also revealed he struggled to adapt to life in England following his move from the States.[LNB]He added: 'Coming from being in an All Star team in Major League Soccer and having to prove myself again was tough.[LNB]'Not being an automatic starter was tough to take. I just had to work hard and make the most of it. [LNB]'Myfirst six months were tough because I wasn't starting many games. I hada three and a half year deal and I had to bite down and tough it out. The positive that came from that situation was getting the goal that saved us from relegation.'[LNB]Dempsey has become something of a fans favourite at Craven Cottage and has displayed his versatility over the last few seasons.[LNB]Hesaid: 'I've been playing outside midfield and its something I pride myself in, being someone who can score goals and play in different positions. I feel I am a complete player.[LNB] 'Iremember seeing people with my jersey for the first time in MLS; it wasa great feeling. When I was a kid I dreamed that one day I'd do well enough to be appreciated.[LNB] Ambition: Dempsey (right) has his sights set on playing in the Champions League before the end of his career[LNB]'To see kids wearing my jersey is a great feeling because I remember wearing the jerseys of people I looked up to and pretending I was other players for the day. Coming over here and seeing the way people have taken to me means a lot.'[LNB]Dempsey went on to say that he keeps himself to himself on the pitch.[LNB]'I'mnot someone who talks a lot in the sense of being like a captain,' he said. 'I think about things in my mind and execute them instead of talking about them. [LNB]'I'm someone who leads by example by my actions.'[LNB]  I'm back!
