New deal: Baird[LNB]Fulham defender Chris Baird has signed a new deal running until the summer of 2013.[LNB]The Northern Ireland international, who was signed from Southampton in the summer of 2007, played a key role as Fulham fought their way to the Europa League final last season.[LNB]Baird made his first appearance under new manager Mark Hughes at the weekend when he appeared as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 win over Wolves.[LNB]Baird, 28, showed his versatility last season by filling a midfield role whileDickson Etuhu and Danny Murphy were missing through injury.[LNB]Baird began his career with Ballymena United before joining Southampton.
