Brown: Players to blame

Captain Michael Brown claims the Fulham players let down former manager Chris Coleman.

Coleman was sacked last month following a poor run of results which resulted in the Cottagers being dragged down into the relegation dogfight.

Fulham then turned to former Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez to save their Premiership status, but Brown believes he and his team-mates didn't do enough to save Coleman's job.

"I think we let him down, first and foremost, and we let the club down," the former Sheffield United midfielder told Sky Sports News.

"It was just a disappointing end to something where we'd done okay up until the end of February.

"We knew we were in a difficult situation and results hadn't gone for us, but it just came as a shock to find out he'd been sacked.

"We all know that's football and the club made their decision. We stayed up so we've done what we needed to do."
