Brown still holds Zamora hope

Phil Brown is confident Hull City's bid to sign Fulham striker Bobby Zamora in a £5million deal is 'very much alive'. The Premier League clubs had agreed a fee earlier this month and Zamora has held talks over a move to the KC Stadium. Brown had been optimistic of securing a deal for the 28-year-old, but his prospects appeared to suffer a setback at the weekend when Fulham boss Roy Hodgson stated Zamora had decided to stay at Craven Cottage. However, Brown insists the former West Ham United front man has yet to reject a switch to the Tigers and is hoping to finally bring in an attacking signing. "As far as we're concerned, the case is certainly not closed," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "His agent was at our game on Saturday and we discussed further the level of contract Bobby would expect. "It's not dead at all, I haven't been told by anyone that the answer is no. "For me, it's still very much alive." Hull have missed out on Michael Owen, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Fraizer Campbell this summer, and also pulled out of a move for Daryl Murphy.
