Barnes unsure over future

Derby County midfielder Giles Barnes remains unsure whether he will be back in the Premier League with Fulham next season.

Barnes, 20, spent the second half of last season on loan at Craven Cottage but failed to make a single appearance as he was plagued by injury.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson initially suggested he would not be signing Barnes on a permanent basis but the former England Under-19 international has now revealed that the two clubs are locked in negotiations over his potential return to west London.

"I've been told that Fulham have gone back to Derby a couple of times since I returned - but it's all down to the price," he told the Derby Evening Telegraph.

"If it comes off, that would be great, but I'm a Derby player and they've looked after me. I'd be happy to stay here if it's not meant to be."
