Barnes not hankering for move

Giles Barnes claims he would be happy to remain at Derby should a switch to Fulham fail to materialise. The 20-year-old endured an injury-hit loan spell at Craven Cottage last season, but did enough to catch the Cottagers' eye. Despite still undergoing rehabilitation to shake off the Achilles problem which marred his time in the capital, and required surgery, Roy Hodgson has enquired as to Barnes' availability. Whether a deal can be struck remains to be seen, but for now Barnes insists he is giving little thought to his future. "I've been told that Fulham have gone back to Derby a couple of times since I returned, but it's all down to price," he told the Derby Telegraph. "If it comes off, that would be great, but I'm a Derby player and they've looked after me. I'd be happy to stay here if it's not meant to be."
