Baggies reject new Greening bid

Fulham have failed with a third bid for Jonathan Greening after West Bromwich Albion rejected a £4million offer for the midfielder. Greening has been a leading target for Fulham boss Roy Hodgson, who believes the 30-year-old is keen on a move to Craven Cottage. An initial £2million plus player offer was described as 'derisory' by the Baggies, who subsequently rejected an improved bid of £3.25million earlier this week. The Cottagers' latest offer of £4million also falls short as West Brom seek to persuade Greening to stay at The Hawthorns. Greening has handed in a written transfer request after confirming he wants another shot at playing in the Premier League. However, the former Manchester United youngster has insisted he will not rock the boat and is prepared to wait until West Brom's valuation is matched. Fulham chief Hodgson must now decide whether to make a fourth attempt to land Greening or turn his attention elsewhere before the start of the season.
