Amkar say sorry to Fulham after Perm fans offer Cottagers grim welcome

Amkar's president has apologised after fans of his club greeted Fulham at Perm's airport dressed as grim reapers and with a banner showing a line of graves, one bearing the name of Andrew Johnson. The players tried to laugh off the welcome as they passed a line of about 20 young men complete with faux scythes as they walked to a coach following their 2,250-mile flight.  One local explained the unmarked graves were supposed to signify that the rest of the Fulham side would suffer the same fate as striker Johnson, who sustained a shoulder injury in the London side's 3-1 win in the Europa League play-off round first leg at Craven Cottage last week. Amkar chief Valery Chuprakov promosed to punish those involved an said: 'Unfortunately, pseudo Amkar fans showed a very peculiar way to interpret the laws of the Ural hospitality and decided to behave in such a dubious way. 'Obviously they did not enjoy enough horror stories in childhood and decided to show the London team their original sense of humour. 'We are categorically against such behaviour and we apologize to management, staff and players of Fulham.'
