Fulham chairman Mohamed Al Fayed has responded angrily to claims that he is set to sell the West London club.[LNB] On the pitch the Cottagers are enjoying a fruitful season which currently sees them occupying eighth place in the Premier League and on the verge of European qualification.[LNB]The current campaign is all the more impressive given the fact that the club only secured their top flight status on the last day of the 2007/08 season.[LNB]The London Evening Standard reported that Al Fayed would be willing to listen to offers after announcing that the club posted losses of £7.5million in their last financial year on Thursday. This has now been denied by the football club.[LNB]A statement on the club's official website read: "Fulham's chairman Mohamed Al Fayed is angered by claims in the Evening Standard that he is interested in selling the club and dismisses any notion that the club is up for sale.[LNB]"The comment was made by an analyst who has nothing to do with the club, who has never spoken to the chairman and who the chairman believes is ignorant of Fulham and its position.[LNB]"Following a fantastic season under Roy Hodgson, the chairman wants to assure the fans that he is as committed as ever to the club and to its future success."[LNB]
