Agbonlahor at the double
Aston Villa powered back into contention for fourth place in the Barclays Premier League as Gabriel Agbonlahor struck twice to secure a 2-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Agbonlahor bagged both goals in four first-half minutes, taking advantage of poor defending from Chris Smalling and Brede Hangeland to inflict a fifth successive league defeat on Roy Hodgson's side.
Villa were clearly the more dangerous side and in the 40th minute they deservedly raced ahead through Agbonlahor.
Stiliyan Petrov produced a cross which should have been cleared by Smalling but instead the 20-year-old centre-back allowed Agbonlahor to sneak in and nod home.
Three minutes later Villa surged 2-0 ahead, Carlos Cuellar picking out Agbonlahor who left Hangeland for dead before producing a brilliant finish.
