Dutt pens Freiburg extension

Freiburg head coach Robin Dutt has signed a two-year contract to tie him to the Bundesliga club until the summer of 2012.

The 44-year-old has been in charge at Freiburg for just over two years and led them to promotion back to the top-flight last season.

"It was decisive for me to be able to take the next step following our promotion to the Bundesliga," Dutt commented.

"Freiburg still have potential and we would like to work with a lot of imagination and engagement on enhancing the club's attractive image in German football."

Chairman Achim Stocker added: "We have opted for a long-term contract because the coach and his team enjoy our utmost faith and are working well here.

"We are delighted that Robin will be remaining with Freiburg beyond the end of the season."
