Long ban for Nasri would be 'ridiculous' - Platini

Michel Platini on Saturday said that a two-year suspension from the national side for France forward Samir Nasri for a foul-mouthed tirade against journalists would be "ridiculous and shameful".

"If I was suspended every time I had insulted a journalist, I'd never have had so many caps. For Samir Nasri, I've heard talk of a two-year suspension. That would be ridiculous and shameful," the former France captain told a news conference.

The executive committee of the French Football Federation is to decide on Tuesday whether to sanction any of the national team's players for their behaviour during Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.
