Gonalons called up by France to replace Nasri

Lyon defensive midfielder Maxime Gonalons was awarded his first France call-up on Wednesday after Samir Nasri was ruled out of the friendly games with the United States and Belgium due to injury.

Gonalons, 22, has never previously been included in a France squad but was drafted in after Manchester City midfielder Nasri succumbed to an inflamed tendon in his left knee.

France play the United States at Stade de France on Friday before tackling Belgium at the same venue four days later.
