Domenech urges France focus

France boss Raymond Domenech has warned his side to focus on the task of winning the World Cup final, rather than Zinedine Zidane's farewell to the game.

Zidane will bow out after Sunday's Berlin showpiece, but Domenech is concerned the focus on his star player will deflect from the need to make sure that opponents Italy are given total respect.

He said: "He is a world champion.

"He affords the French public real dreams, that's always the case with him and it has been the case for ten years with him now.

"This will be the last one for him but, for us, it is not the last match of Zinedine Zidane, it is the final of the World Cup.

"He doesn't want things to be mixed up and he's proved this. He is playing the World Cup here and not his last match.

"It is the World Cup and that's what he has on his mind. There are other people for who it could also be the last match.

"The objective is to win the World Cup."
