French Football Federation chairman Jean-Pierre Escalettes is hoping for more success in the future after coach Raymond Domenech agreed to stay in his post for another two years.
Domenech took Les Bleus all the way to the World Cup final in Germany and has decided to stay on and oversee his country's Euro 2008 campaign, having previously signalled his intention to leave his job.
FFF chairman Escalettes said: "The federal council proposed unanimously for Raymond Domenech to continue his mission as national coach.
"We have to finalise the final contractual details for the extension, which the next federal council will study.
"Raymond Domenech is a winner. The run in the World Cup was a little like an unfinished symphony that he wants to complete.
"Firstly, we have to qualify for Euro 2008, but we are in the most difficult qualifying group with a World Cup quarter-finalist and the world champions."
