Domenech quiet on diving

06 Jul 2006 - 09:30:11

France coach Raymond Domenech refused to be drawn in to the debate about Portugal's tactics after seeing his side book their place in the World Cup final.

A 33rd-minute Zinedine Zidane penalty clinched a 1-0 semi-final victory for France in Munich on Wednesday, in a game in which Portugal's players were guilty of a succession of dives as they sought to win a spot-kick of their own.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's men were also involved in a string of controversial incidents during their second round win against the Holland and quarter-final success against England, but Domenech declined to criticise them directly.

"I do not govern the behaviour, decision or choices of Mr Scolari. That's not on my mind," he said.

"I look at France and give credit to the Portuguese team. They played well but there's one winner.

"I do not like to comment on another coach's team. I do not like other coaches to make comments on my team."
