Blanc calls up Gomis for Euro qualifiers run-in

France coach Laurent Blanc has called up in-form Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis for the two remaining Euro 2012 qualifiers against Albania and Bosnia-Hercegovina.

Gomis, back on national duty after a two-year absence, was the only new name figuring in the list of 24 players released on Thursday for next month's Stade de France double act.

France can finish top of Group D if they take four points from the qualifiers against Albania on October 7 and Bosnia four days later with Blanc counting on Gomes translating his buoyant league form to the international scene to seal France's Euro ticket.

He makes his return for Les Bleus as a result of his six goals for Lyon this season, making him the French first division's co-top scorer, as well as the absence of Paris Saint Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau, who is unavailable after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Gomis opened his Champions League account when scoring for Lyon against dynamo Zagreb on Tuesday.

Blanc will be hoping the powerful forward adds some zest to the France attack after his side's disappointing goalless draw last time out with Romania.

France top Group D on 17 points, one clear of Bosnia.
