Best sides advance says Blanc

France coach Laurent Blanc was pulling no punches Saturday when he suggested his team came up short in their 2-0 quarter-finals defeat to Spain.

"Is a quarter-final the level where France is at the moment? I don't know, what I do know is that the best sides will be in the semi-finals and France won't be," said Blanc, who ended up drawing the short straw of meeting Spain when defeated in the group phase by Sweden, also 2-0.
