Forfar looking to address League One slide as third-place Ayr visit Station Park

Forfar welcome Ayr United to Station Park on Saturday looking to end a run of four defeats as they fight to keep themselves off the foot of League One.

Gary Bollan will be without Michael Travis, who has a knee injury, while Michael Dunlop and Iain Campbell are both struggling to be fit.

The Loons are ninth in League One with only in-form Brechin beneath them, with Bollan targeting a much-needed win over Ayr.

"It is good that our performance levels have gone up but we know that we need points more than performances now. Ayr still have plenty to play for but we have to be looking to beat them," he said.

Ayr have doubts over Peter Murphy and Jamie Adams as they look to edge ever closer to securing a play-off place.

The Honest Men are 13 points clear of fourth-placed Stranraer but manager Ian McCall knows their hosts are fighting for survival.

"We lost to leaders Dunfermline last weekend however we have picked ourselves up and are ready to go again. We created chances in the first half but never took them and they ended up deserved winners," he said.

"There is however still plenty to aim for this season. It is a really competitive league and this game with Forfar will be a real contest as they have targets to hit as well and we will need to be at our best to get the win."
