Flying start sees Airdrie home

Airdrie ensured Forfar's miserable recent run continued after withstanding a fightback from the home side to claim a 3-2 victory at Station Park.

The game looked good as over inside the opening half-hour as visiting Airdrie went 3-0 up, but they were given a scare as Forfar pulled two goals back either side of half-time.

Liam Watt opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Nicky Cadden doubled Airdrie's lead eight minutes later. Cadden then turned provider as Marc Fitzpatrick made it 3-0 in the 29th minute with a header.

On-loan Hibernian teenager Scott Martin threatened to turn the game around for Forfar with a brace in the 45th and 52nd minutes, but it proved not enough to prevent the home side from suffering a fifth defeat in seven winless League One games.
