Andrew Jackson winner eases Brechin's relegation fears in victory over Forfar

Andrew Jackson hit the only goal of the game as bottom club Brechin gave their Ladbrokes League One survival hopes a boost with a 1-0 win at 10-man Forfar.

Thomas O'Brien had the best chance of the opening half but his header from Iain Campbell's corner was easily stopped by Graeme Smith.

Craig Molloy pulled an effort wide on the hour mark before the hosts were reduced to 10 men when Derek Young was shown a red card for his second bookable offence after a foul on David Bates.

And Brechin made them pay when they broke the deadlock five minutes later when Isaac Layne played in Jackson and he drilled the ball past Robert Douglas.
