Alexander ponders changes

Iain Hume and David Ball could be Fleetwood's strike partnership as boss Graham Alexander seeks a return to winning ways at home to Bristol Rovers.

The Cod Army's automatic-promotion chase suffered a blip at the weekend courtesy of a stunning 3-0 loss at Exeter with Hume, a loan signing from Preston, making his debut off the bench.

He was joined shortly afterwards by Ball, making his first appearance since February 4 because of an ankle problem, and the two's contributions pleased Alexander on the day.

Fleetwood will continue to listen to Bobby Grant's parent club Blackpool over his knee problem while midfielder Jeff Hughes (broken leg) will not play again this season.

Bristol Rovers will be without influential midfielder John-Joe O'Toole.

The former Colchester man has scored 15 times this season but picked up his 10th yellow card of the campaign against Southend on Friday night and will serve the first of his two-game ban against the Cod Army.

Manager John Ward looks likely to select Steven Gillepsie or David Clarkson in O'Toole's role as they look to move clear of the relegation zone having won just one of their last six matches.

Matt Harrold also looks likely to be involved once more while fellow forwards Ryan Brunt and Alan Gow remain long-term injury absentees.
