Ball worry for Fleetwood

Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander will check on striker David Ball ahead of Torquay's trip to Highbury.

The 23-year-old required five stitches in his face following a coming together with Ian Goodison in the closing stages of Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Tranmere but he could be available to play some part on Saturday.

Striker Jamille Matt is expected to lead the line once again after scoring twice in the victory in midweek.

Experienced forward Jon Parkin is in contention to make his first start of the season after coming off the bench in Town's last two matches.

Torquay will be without winger Billy Bodin as they look to end a run of two goalless draws.

The Gulls drew 0-0 with Portsmouth on Tuesday night having been held by Hartlepool on Saturday and Alan Knill will not be able to call upon the former Swindon man at Highbury.

Bodin has been named in the Wales Under-21 squad that play UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers in San Marino and Moldova in the coming days.

Knill rested senior players Kevin Nicholson, Lee Mansell and Karl Hawley for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie and all three look set to be involved in the starting line-up against the Cod Army.
