Fleetwood new boys could start again for Uwe Rosler's side

Markus Schwabl and Wes Burns will hope to keep their places in Fleetwood's team for Southend's visit to Highbury.

The new Cod Army recruits were given their full debuts at Sheffield United on Tuesday as Uwe Rosler's men extended their unbeaten run to 11 games in League One with a 2-0 win.

Devante Cole also came in for Ash Hunter and scored one of Fleetwood's goals, while on-loan Burnley striker Chris Long, on the bench in South Yorkshire, is set to cut short his season-long stay and be sent out elsewhere.

Rosler's injury list includes Nathan Pond (knee), Jimmy Ryan (foot), Martyn Woolford (knee) and Michael Duckworth (groin).

Southend will be without winger Jermaine McGlashan through suspension, which holds over following the postponement of Saturday's home match against Bolton because of a frozen pitch.

Striker Frank Nouble is expected to go straight into the squad after signing until the end of the season following his release by Gillingham, while Ben Coker could return at left-back.

Forward Nile Ranger remains unavailable having been suspended by the Shrimpers for a "breach of discipline" which is being investigated by the Football Association.

Goalkeeper Mark Oxley (elbow) is closing in on a return to full training, as is on-loan Crystal Palace centre-back Ryan Inniss (shoulder), while striker David Mooney (ankle) and winger Stephen McLaughlin (ankle) continue their rehabilitation.
