Devante Cole returns to contention for Fleetwood

Fleetwood striker Devante Cole returns to contention for the home game against Shrewsbury.

Cole was cup-tied for Thursday night's penalty shoot-out defeat to Barnsley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area final but is expected to return to the starting line-up.

Midfielder David Ball stepped off the bench against Barnsley having missed the previous five games due to a hamstring injury and will be monitored.

Jimmy Ryan and Antoni Sarcevic are pushing for recalls to the squad and recent signing Alex Kiwomya could return to the starting line-up after dropping to the bench on Thursday night.

Shrewsbury will wait on the fitness of defender Jermaine Grandison for the crucial trip to Lancashire.

The 25-year-old had hoped to be back in contention for the midweek loss to Southend after a knee injury but again missed out.

Midfielder Abu Ogogo will hope to force his way back into the side after two games as an unused substitute since overcoming a hamstring injury.

The Shrews go into the game 20th in the table, just a point above Fleetwood and the relegation zone.
