Wes Burns set for Fleetwood debut

Wes Burns is set to make his Fleetwood debut at home to Scunthorpe.

Burns has joined the club on a youth loan until May 8 with new Bristol City manager Lee Johnson keen for his Wales Under-21 striker to gain experience in Sky Bet League One.

Fleetwood could also be boosted by the return of midfielder Jimmy Ryan who has been sidelined for two weeks with a hamstring injury.

But injured pair Nathan Pond and Joe Davis remain absent as the Cod Army seek to end a run of seven games without a win.

Scunthorpe's Luke Williams and Scott Wiseman could both return to contention after missing the 2-0 midweek win at Millwall.

Midfielder Williams sustained a leg injury during last week's home win against Southend and defender Wiseman was struggling with a stomach upset.

Striker Greg Luer and winger Jim O'Brien, on loan from Hull and Coventry respectively, made their first appearances for the club off the bench on Tuesday night and are pushing for their first starts.

O'Brien boosted his chances by scoring the Iron's second goal, while joint caretaker managers Michael Dawson and Nick Daws have no new injury worries. Scunthorpe are chasing a fifth straight league win.
