Selection poser for Cod Army

Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander has a selection headache ahead of Saturday's clash with Peterborough at the Highbury Stadium.

A crop of young players featured heavily in the Cod Army's 2-0 defeat against Bristol City with Nick Haughton, Tyler Fobes, Max Cartwright, Jack Sowerby and Ashley Hunter all involved.

Midfielder Haughton was the pick of the bunch after making his full debut at Ashton Gate and could retain his place if Antoni Sarcevic fails to recover from injury in time.

Defender Stephen Crainey is a doubt with a kidney problem while there are question marks over Steven Schumacher, who was left out of the matchday squad last Sunday.

After back-to-back victories against Notts County and Yeovil, Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson is hoping to name an unchanged side for the third game in a row.

In order to do that Ferguson, who can return to the dugout after serving a two-match touchline ban, needs defender Christian Burgess, midfielder Joe Newell and forward Kyle Vassell to recover from minor knocks, which he is confident they will do.

Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick (thigh) and winger Jon Taylor (knee) remain out but both players could be back in contention for the home game with Rochdale on February 14.

Defender Gaby Zakuani will soon be on his way back to England after DR Congo's elimination from the African Nations Cup on Wednesday night. However, this weekend will probably be too soon for him to be involved.
