Cod Army ease into round two

Fleetwood secured their place in the FA Cup second-round draw with a 3-0 victory over Blue Square Bet South side Bromley.

David Ball put the home side ahead in the 10th minutes, getting the last touch after a Curtis Obeng throw.

The Cod Army doubled their lead just after the quarter hour when Bromley goalkeeper Joe Welch brought down Junior Brown inside the area, Jon Parkin converting the penalty.

Micky Mellon's men made it three just after the half hour, Obeng's run cut short by Welch, who was booked before Parkin bagged his second from the spot.

Pierre Joseph-Dubois had the best chance for the visitors after the break, Fleetwood keeper Scott Davies gifting him an opening but recovering well to get his body in the way of the striker's shot.

Parkin was denied his hat-trick by the offside flag 15 minutes from time having curled a shot into the top left hand corner.
