Victory does not save Mihajlovic from fans' ire

Fans called for coach Sinisa Mihajlovic to be sacked despite Fiorentina beating Genoa 1-0 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence on Sunday.

Andrea Lazzari scored the only goal of the game, which left La Viola in the top half of the congested Serie A table.

But fans still chanted "Mihajlovic out!" after the final whistle.

The Serbian, a former coach at Catania, was already under pressure before the game.

However, match-winner Lazzari sprang to his coach's defence.

"We play for the coach, Mihajlovic. We're always with him. We did well to win this game," he told SkySport.

"At half-time, Sinisa told us to think only about the match and we managed to hold on to our advantage."
