Big-spending Fiorentina have pulled off a double swoop to sign defensive pair Juan Manuel Vargas and Gianluca Comotto.
Peru left-back Vargas, 24, has joined from Catania, while 29-year-old Comotto has moved to the Artemio Franchi from Torino, where he was the club captain.
Meanwhile after adding six new players to their squad already this summer, sporting director Pantaleo Corvino does not anticipate any further signings before the start of the new Serie A season.
"We have made huge sacrifices, spending almost 50million euros, making coach Cesare Prandelli happy and assembling a high level squad," he said.
"Now we have to think only about selling players to try and get our budget right again."
La Viola have already landed the likes of Italy striker Alberto Gilardino and Brazil midfielder Felipe Melo ahead of a season that will see them compete in the Champions League.
