Prandelli's proudest moment

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has called his side's qualification for the last 16 of the Champions League 'the happiest moment of my career'.

A 1-0 victory over Lyon sealed La Viola's passage to the knockout stages, with Prandelli proud of the achievement.

He told reporters: "We wanted to make history, were coming off a defeat and risked making life difficult for ourselves after doing so well.

"There was tension, but we wanted to keep calm and after all can do the same things in Europe that we do in Serie A.

"Right now I think it is the happiest moment of my career. We entered the history books and from now on I would like to start writing new pages."

Meanwhile, Fiorentina owner Diego Della Valle says that Prandelli will be offered a contract extension for his success at the Artemio Franchi.

He told Mediaset: "It's a formality. The players and the trainer are one big family and they will stay here for many other years."
