Prandelli expects progress

Fiorentina head coach Cesare Prandelli remains confident that his side can see off Bayern Munich and reach the last eight in the Champions League.

La Viola lost out 2-1 in the first leg of their round of 16 tie in the Allianz Arena, being denied a draw by a controversial last-gasp goal from Miroslav Klose.

Klose was a couple of yards offside when he headed in the winner, after Fiorentina had held out following the sending-off of Massimo Gobbi.

Prandelli said afterwards: "We did everything right on the field. We only failed to double up our marking on the linesman.

"When you play with ten men for 25 minutes and work that hard, you want your efforts rewarded.

"It was a great performance, we know in two weeks we'll challenge them in Florence. Bayern are a wonderful side, but if we play like that then we can go through.

"We will continue with even more belief in the second leg.

"The team know it must keep working like this, as by playing well, sooner or later the incidents have to go our way."
