Montolivo delighted with win

Fiorentina star Riccardo Montolivo believes the Viola's team spirit helped the side to victory in their Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

After Yossi Benayoun had opened the scoring, the Tuscan outfit found their way back into the contest when Martin Jorgensen fired home.

With the game heading towards a draw, Italy international striker Alberto Gilardino slotted home the dramatic later winners as the visitors proceeded to the last 16 as Group E winners.

Speaking to Radio Blu, Montolivo said: "We did really well and believed in this victory even after their goal.

"We didn't get disheartened and carried on as always because we were feeling good.

"I am satisfied with my performance but what really matters is that the team are getting better and better and were perfect here."
