Frey shrugs off criticism

Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey is refusing to let the boo-boys get the better of him.

A section of La Viola fans were critical of the 29-year-old France international when he let a weak 25-yard free-kick from Livorno centre-back Nelson Rivas slip through his grasp.

Even though Fiorentina continued their excellent recent run by eventually winning the match 2-1, Frey admitted he was at fault for Livorno's goal.

He told Tvr-Tele Italia: "You have all seen the goal and there is not much to add.

"I honestly don't care if some people are blaming me. I have always come in for criticism whenever I have conceded a goal. By now I am wearing some armour.

"I think that when the ball goes under the wall, a goalkeeper is not at fault.

"Perhaps you have got used to too many nice things from me and so I don't care now even if you blame me for everything."
