Platini considering FIFA presidency

UEFA president Michel Platini is still currently weighing up whether he wants to succeed Sepp Blatter as the head of FIFA.

Platini has long been mooted as the natural successor at world football's governing body to Blatter, who has in recent weeks hinted he could yet stay on when his current term expires in 2015, despite pledging to stand down at that stage as part of his re-election campaign two years ago.

With the Swiss' future currently unresolved, former France player and manager Platini is similarly uncertain of his next step.

"I am currently considering whether it is good or bad (to stand for FIFA presidency)," Platini said in an interview with L'Equipe.

"I have to convince myself, as I was convinced to run for president of UEFA, I want to go to FIFA.

"UEFA and FIFA, it's not the same world... I have to convince myself that this is my destiny."

On his relationship with Blatter, Platini added: "He said I was a natural candidate. But there is no 'deal' between us, even if it is true that today, I have the legitimacy to go to FIFA."
