Falkirk have snapped up Arsenal's teenage striker Anthony Stokes on a three-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is highly-rated by the Gunners and they are keen for him to gain first-team experience.

Bairns managing director George Craig told the club's official website: "Anthony is one of the hottest properties to have graduated from the English Academy programme.

"He is extremely highly-rated by his club and the Republic of Ireland.

"We believe at Falkirk it is important that any player who joins the club has the qualities we look for to assist us to achieve our ambition."
