SFA reveal cup final allocation

The Scottish Football Association met with both clubs at Hampden on Tuesday morning and it was decided that if and when the Bairns sell an initial allocation of 11,740 tickets, they can have another batch of 3,200, taking the total up to a possible 14,940. The Ibrox club will receive 24,890 for the showpiece occasion at the national stadium on May 30. The SFA will meet again on May 20 to ascertain how many of the tickets set aside for sponsors and Hampden debenture holders have not been taken up. If there are some tickets left over then there will be further discussions with both clubs about them being made available. However, there is unlikely to be any great number of spares which will ensure the annual arguments from supporters about cup final ticket allocation. The Bairns reached the showpiece occasion for the first time since 1997 with a 2-0 win over Dunfermline at the national stadium in front of just 17,124 fans. The other semi-final between the Ibrox men and St Mirren, which Rangers won 3-0, attracted 32,431 supporters, around 20,000 short of capacity.
