Tragedy struck for the former Dundee striker when his studs stuck in the turf as he tried to beaver his way into the Bairns box in the SPL encounter at New Douglas Park on Saturday.[LNB]His sudden collapse provoked a moment of panic among players from both sides who waved frantically for medical attention.[LNB]The game stopped for around six minutes until Lyle was settled by the paramedics, then he was stretchered from the field to be replaced by David Louhoungou.[LNB]Afterwards, Accies boss Reid said: "It was ligament damage that will keep him out for the season.[LNB]"He has had it scanned and most definitely the season is over for him.[LNB]"My heart goes out to Derek Lyle and his family, he has worked really hard to get himself in to the shape he is in.[LNB]"I'm devastated for the lad because he has been a stalwart for me but has been in and out of the team.[LNB]"For the first time since he came to the club, he has nailed down a position and he has played in the last three or four games and for that to happen is gutting for him.[LNB]"Without making excuses, I think the injury played a big part in the way we played.[LNB]"We wanted to take three points but we didn't really turn up for most of the game.[LNB]"It would have been unjust if we had won it in the second half."[LNB]Falkirk striker Carl Finnigan claims he was shocked when his goal was chalked off by Willie Collum for what the referee described as a push on Accies defender Martin Canning.[LNB]"I was in shock, I couldn't believe it," Finnigan said.[LNB]"To be honest, I thought at first that it was offside but I saw the linesman had his flag down so I couldn't understand why he blew.[LNB]"The referee said it was a push. I haven't see the replay but as far as I'm concerned it was a goal, I had my eye on the ball and got there in front of the defender."[LNB]Falkirk are still looking for their first SPL win of the season and remain bottom of the table with two points from a possible 15 but boss Eddie May insists he is unconcerned.[LNB]Referring back to the club's Europa League qualifying first-leg win over FC Vaduz just after he was appointed boss, although it was followed by a shock defeat in the second leg which sent the Bairns crashing out the tournament, May said: "It doesn't bother me one little bit.[LNB]"We won my first game so it doesn't bother me one little bit.[LNB]"I would say it was a better result for Hamilton.[LNB]"We should have been up at half-time but unfortunately we never got the goal, the referee saw something and we have to accept that.[LNB]"The big difference for me was the Falkirk fans singing for 90 minutes, virtually.[LNB]"I've been at Falkirk games where they have been winning comfortably and the fans haven't said a word.[LNB]"I think they are happy with what they are seeing which is important.[LNB]"I've been here for 10 or 11 weeks and that's the way we want to play."[LNB][LNB]
