Pressley tempted by Falkirk role

Pressley and Eddie May, who heads the club's youth development programme, have emerged as the leading contenders for the job, possibly as a partnership. The former Bairns star expressed his desire to become a manager when he announced his retirement earlier this month following his five-month playing spell at Falkirk. "It's a fantastic club, a fantastic infrastructure," Pressley told BBC Scotland. "I am very interested in the job. But I have to show Falkirk the respect. "They have been going about their appointment in the right manner. "I am heading for Sweden and return next weekend, so if an appointment is made before then, you will know it is not me." Falkirk veterans Jackie McNamara and Neil McCann have jointly applied while former Dundee boss Alex Rae has also been linked with the position. Dundee United assistant manager Peter Houston has also admitted he would consider the job, but he has not applied. "It is on record that at one time I said that I would love to go back to Falkirk," the former Bairns player said. "When you spend 12 or 13 years there as a player and actually worked there as a coach for a wee while, if there is one job that might have interested me, it might have been the Falkirk one. "You can sit in the comfort zone for a long, long time and there's always that thought about can you do it, but I am not the type of person to chase the job as I have a great job with Craig Levein."
