Pressley praise for Motherwell pair

Falkirk boss Steven Pressley has praised Motherwell's management team of Craig Brown and Archie Knox ahead of Saturday's SPL clash at Fir Park.[LNB] Pressley once had his summer holiday ruined by Brown and Knox used to make him clean his shoes. But the Bairns chief is full of gratitude to the pair for their influence on his career.[LNB]Knox was assistant manager when Pressley made his senior breakthrough at Rangers, while Brown first picked him for the Scotland Under-21s and then the full national team in 2000.[LNB]Brown handed Pressley a late call-up for a May friendly in Dublin and only brought him on in the 90th minute, but there were no complaints from the then Hearts defender about his cancelled summer plans.[LNB]"It was just a holiday, a holiday prior to my honeymoon actually," Pressley said.[LNB]"Craig brought me into my first international squad and when he asked me to come along at short notice there was no way I was going to let a holiday get in the way.[LNB]"I'm grateful to him for getting me involved in the Scotland squad and I have the utmost respect for him as a man.[LNB]"I worked for a long period under Archie at Rangers and he was very much a man of standards.[LNB]"He was very demanding, a degree of old school about him, which is sadly missing from the modern game. I learnt a great deal from him.[LNB]"We used to have to wash his car and clean his shoes. He had me doing all sorts of things for him. I've never forgiven him for that.[LNB]"But it was a great grounding for me and it helped me along the way."[LNB]Motherwell lost their first SPL game under Brown and Knox last week, almost three months after they took over, but Pressley is confident his bottom team can trouble them at Fir Park.[LNB]Falkirk earned plaudits but no points from their 3-1 defeat to Hibernian last weekend and Pressley admitted they had to find a ruthless streak after failing to win in six games.[LNB]"Credit has to be given to Craig and Archie," Pressley said. "They've done a terrific job. They have brought a great stability to the club and a string of excellent results.[LNB]"They will be brimming with confidence but so are we.[LNB]"If we continue to focus in the manner we're doing, the results will come. The players really are applying themselves.[LNB]"Some of the football we're playing is terrific. We need to keep applying ourselves in that manner and not become frustrated and feel sorry for ourselves because we're not getting what we deserve.[LNB]"It's vitally important that we keep believing and I think we certainly do that, and I think we'll turn it around."
