Pressley hails Bairns performance
Falkirk manager Steven Pressley believes his side are building momentum at a vital time as they gained a vital 1-1 draw against St Johnstone.[LNB] The Bairns boss was left to bemoan his side's inability to hang on to the lead given to them by Ryan Flynn's second goal in two games after only 18 minutes.[LNB]However, despite having their lead snatched away by Filipe Morais' 36th-minute equaliser, Pressley was thrilled with his team's overall display as they moved to within two points of second-bottom St Mirren ahead of the arrival of under-pressure Hibs on Saturday.[LNB]He said: "I was again delighted with the performance. I'm just disappointed again that we didn't win the game.[LNB]"But on the positive, that's us gone to two difficult venues in four days - Hamilton and St Johnstone - and given two very positive performances.[LNB]"It gives us a little bit of momentum. That's two games undefeated and we certainly go into this Saturday's game in real positive mood.[LNB]"I'm delighted with the effort, I'm just disappointed we lost the goal when we did because we had scored and we were very much in control of the game at that time.[LNB]"Performance-wise I'm delighted. We're creating opportunities, we're playing with a confidence that I think belies our league position and we've got a little bit of momentum.[LNB]"I've talked about momentum and I think that at this moment in time it's very important to have momentum, so I'm really pleased.[LNB]"It could be a precious point for us. Saturday's a real interesting game for us and a game we're really looking forward to.[LNB]"It's a game you don't need to lift the players for, Hibs at home, and we're really excited by that."[LNB]St Johnstone counterpart Derek McInnes confessed his side lacked their usual spark as they began in a flat fashion against a team they had defeated 2-1 away from home only 10 days previously.[LNB]And, despite missing the opportunity to close the gap on sixth-placed Hearts to just three points, the McDiarmid Park manager insists it was still a valuable point for his team in their own bid to avoid being dragged into the relegation issue.[LNB]He said: "I think a point was a fair result. We looked a little but unsure of ourselves, particularly with them on the break, which we knew was one of their strengths.[LNB]"I was disappointed with the goal we lost. But the players responded well and it was a great goal from Filipe Morais. It was a right good finish because he didn't have a lot of the goal to work with.[LNB]"I thought Falkirk had the better of the first half and normally we control things a lot better and we dominate teams a lot more.[LNB]"We had more control of the game in the second half and I thought we were the better team without really working their goalkeeper.[LNB]"The boys dug deep and fought hard and it's another point towards safety.[LNB]"We've got nine games left and I think we've still got a bit of work to do to get to where I wanted to be at the start of the season. Every point has been hard-earned and we'll continue to work hard.[LNB]"We're trying to pull in the team above us, which we've always tried to do from the start.[LNB]"It happens to be Hearts in sixth and that's a target for us, something to go for. At the same time we're quietly looking over our shoulder knowing we can't get complacent."
