McCann unconvinced by Novo rocket

The Spaniard had only been on the park as an interval substitute for Kris Boyd for 29 seconds when he sent a speculative volley from around 40 yards past Bairns keeper Dani Mallo. But the former Rangers winger said: "It's probably a bit of luck and quality. "To be honest, it probably wasn't even a chance, it was a lash at it and it ended up in the back of the net. "But you've heard the old cliche, 'If you don't buy a ticket you can't win the raffle'. "He's smashed it and whether he meant to smash it the way he did, ultimately he won the trophy for Rangers. "It's probably been a long time since a final has been contested in the way it was and finished in the way it was. "We didn't play Rangers off the park but I think we dominated the match. "It probably makes it worse that we got beaten by a goal like that. "We limited Rangers to very little and to lose a game with such a goal is worse." Falkirk defender Jackie McNamara also struggled to come to terms with Novo's spectacular winner. "It was disappointing," the former Celtic player said. "Fair play to Nacho but on another day it could have gone anywhere. "But he's had a shot and it went in and sometimes that's what it takes to win cup finals. "We gave everything we had and stuck to the game plan and on any other day with a bit of luck we would have won. "We passed the ball, we hit the post and bar and Rangers were angry, trying to get close to us. "On another day we would have got something."
