Krul agrees Bairns switch

Falkirk have agreed a deal to sign Newcastle United's Dutch goalkeeper Tim Krul on a six-month loan arrangement, subject to a medical.

Bairns boss John Hughes has moved for the 19-year-old after deciding not to pursue his interest in Hibernian shot-stopper Zbigniew Malkowski.

"He's one I've watched and been impressed by on a number of occasions," Hughes told Falkirk's official website.

"I think it shows how far this club has come when we're able to attract the Dutch Under-21 goalkeeper when there was English Championship interest."
