Aberdeen defender Jackie McNamara is hoping to end a frustrating season in style, starting with victory against his former club Celtic in Tuesday's Scottish Cup replay at Parkhead.
The 34-year-old has started only 16 games for the Dons following last summer's switch from Wolves after enduring a succession of injury problems.
However, McNamara came off the substitute's bench in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Gretna after being sidelined for six weeks with a hamstring strain.
He admitted: "I haven't played as many games as I'd have wanted. I've had a few niggling injuries.
"It was hard to miss out on so many big games such as the European matches against Bayern (Munich). But there are still big games left.
"I thought we'd done enough to get through in the first game against Celtic, but it wasn't to be.
"Celtic showed the never-say-die attitude they always have, but we had enough chances to get through.
"Everyone knows you have to take your chances against the Old Firm and that's something we'll need to do tomorrow.
"They'll not be taking us lightly but the onus will be on them."
