    Hughes warned over conduct

    06 Feb 2008 - 08:51:13

Falkirk manager John Hughes has avoided a touchline ban despite severely criticising the standard of refereeing in the Scottish Premier League.

The Bairns boss hit out at the quality of match officials after Scott Arfield was sent off in a goalless draw with Aberdeen last month.

However, despite being hauled before a disciplinary panel, Hughes received only a warning over his conduct.

"Mr Hughes was severely censured and warned as to his future conduct," said a spokesman for the Scottish Football Association.

"John Hughes made an appearance and was found to be in breach of rule 123 - bringing the game into disrepute.

"This relates to comments made after the Falkirk v Aberdeen match on 5 January 2008."
