Hughes praises Barr approach
01 Apr 2008 - 07:40:37
Falkirk boss John Hughes is looking for skipper Darren Barr to lead the way as his side go to Aberdeen hoping to clinch a top-six finish in the SPL.
A goalless draw against Kilmarnock left the Bairns facing a crunch showdown at Pittodrie next Monday, with Hughes expecting Barr to come to the fore again.
He said after the stalemate with Killie: "He's just grown in stature and he epitomises everything we are about at the club.
"He leads from the front. I felt the fight is never in doubt with Darren Barr. He wears his heart on his sleeve.
"I've seen him a little bit better on the ball, but he was driving the team forward and that's the kind of character we need if we're going to get in the top six.
"You need characters in your dressing room when you're going to places like Pittodrie next week, not just in terms of football ability, but with a bit of bravado."
