Hughes eyes keeper move

Falkirk boss John Hughes has lined up Hearts' veteran goalkeeper Steve Banks if he is unable to extend the loan stay of Scott Flinders.

The Bairns are currently in talks to extend 22-year-old Flinders' stay from Crystal Palace until the end of the season, with Banks on Hughes' list of possible alternatives.

He told the Edinburgh Evening News: "Banksy is definitely on the list but it all comes down to finance. I can't be any more honest than that.

"If we get Scott Flinders then great, but if not, we'll be looking about.

"I know Banksy's situation at Hearts and he is one we like. I haven't made contact with Hearts or anything, he's just one who is on our list.

"I'm working on Scott at the moment and if that doesn't come off we'll see what happens. We should know by Christmas what is happening, but we are trying to keep him here."
