Hughes eyes Hampden shock

Falkirk manager John Hughes has backed his side to cause a major shock in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers this weekend.

Buoyed by securing survival in the SPL, Hughes thinks that his players will be up for the challenge of taking on the newly-crowned league champions at Hampden Park.

He told BBC Scotland: "We're massive underdogs but I feel there can be an upset, I really do.

"To do that we're going to need lots of luck and, most importantly, we have to believe in what we're doing.

"It's pointless us turning up if people say there's nothing to lose. We've got plenty to lose - we want to go there and we want to win it.

"After we knew we'd be staying in the SPL you could see the relief of tension, smiling faces and the players carried that on to the training pitch.

"But the same can be said for Rangers, they'll have got a massive lift after winning the league.

"So there'll be two teams going there to enjoy the day.

"But the only way you enjoy it is if you win. I don't want to be a loser."
