Hughes admits to goals woe

Falkirk manager John Hughes has admitted that he would love to have the money available to go out and buy a proven goalscorer.

The Bairns are rooted to the foot of the SPL table with five games to play, although a place in the Scottish Cup final has at least quietened the moaners among the Bairns faithful.

Hughes told The Scotsman: "I'll be honest, I have not got enough goals in my team. That is possibly one of the reasons why we are where we are in the table right now.

"To get these strikers who is going to score you 15 or 20 goals a season costs you a lot of money and it is money that we have not got.

"We play a lot of good football and we have been working very hard in the last week or so to get the ball into Michael Higdon and then get in there and support him."
