Gow takes Hughes plaudits
02 Jan 2007 - 13:08:58
Falkirk boss John Hughes has backed Bairns midfielder Alan Gow to break into the Scotland international set-up after his hat-trick in the 5-1 win at Dundee United.
The 24-year-old schemer has been a key player for Hughes' side since his arrival from Airdrie United, sparking interest from a number of clubs across Europe.
Hughes said: "He's certainly got the talent for a full international career.
"No disrespect to the interested clubs, if he stays with us, I think he is destined for the Premiership.
"There are a few clubs sniffing about Alan, but he's better off staying here for another year.
"I've seen players go elsewhere and stagnate, but here he will get a regular slot.
"I've seen plenty of guys jump ship because they think the grass is greener but it's not always the case."
